The Greater Good is Always Evil

The ‘greater good’ is always evil;
Thus has it ever been.
Evil can never be justified
Even if the ‘lessor sin.’

The ‘greater good’ is always evil;
Thus will it ever be.
No one is good except God alone;
Even the majority.

Who nullifies the least commandment
Is called least in God’s domain.
The ‘greater good’ may be our goal
But guilty we remain.

For there is no sin God condones,
No matter how just the cause.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Absent any mortal laws.

Though we vainly seek to justify
Our unrighteous means and ways;
Condemned, we’re as guilty as Pilate,
Though we wash our hands for days.
